Climbing Mountains

I woke up yesterday feeling itchy. A little boxed in. In the afternoon, I put Emma down for a nap and asked Hannah if she wanted to go climb a mountain. You see, Calico Basin has this gorgeous, tempting rock mountain. Every time I go, I see little specks of people up on it, and I've always wanted to be one of them.

You see that little tree at the top? Yes folks, we hiked up to that very tree. Well, hike isn't really the word for it. It was more like scrambling up big rocks. There's no trail, you just pick a rock and climb up it. Hands and feet and knees.

And here's that tree up close. Growing right out of the rock.

The view from the top:

It took us two hours, and our legs were like jelly on the way down. And we felt magnificent.
